Week Report #5
Jaden McGrath 11/16/18
This week in my animation class we are really getting into lip syncing our characters. First we did a lip sync practice with the audio from Game of Thrones and once that was finished along with a quick arm practice test, we began starting with an actual lip sync project using the audio from Parks and Recreation. The only real thing that irritated me a bit was making the arm in my arm test project. But working on the mouth movements on the lip sync practice were actually fun to make and I hope it's just as fun to work on in the actual project. The next thing I want to learn on how to make a whole character move at the same time like arm movement, leg movement, lip sync, etc. And I also want to learn how to make 3-D animation which luckily is the next thing we are doing right after our lip sync project is done.

I would like to take a moment to talk about this because when I heard the news and found out that it was real, It hit me as hard as the Hulk's punch or Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. Early in the morning on November 12th 2018, we lost a legend in the field of comics, superheroes, and just nerd culture in general. On November 12th, we sadly lost the legendary Stanley Lieber A.K.A Stan Lee due to the illness he was going through. So I wanted to take the time and dedicate this blog to Stan "The Man" Lee himself and all the joy he has brought to me and comic fans, movie fans, and just nerds all over the world. Now some people wold like to comment that he always took Jack Kirby's credit when it came to some of Marvel's properties. Well, I personally don't believe that because he never straight up take all the credit so if you plan on commenting about that, I would please ask you to hold those comments and just let me talk about this great man and the life that he left behind for us to enjoy. Because Stan Lee indeed was a good man. He was always kind and respected the fanbase that he helped to create. I mean the man literally gave us some of the most well-known comic book characters and even just characters of all time like Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, X-Men, Black Panther, The Hulk, Iron Man, and so many more. He was a man who believed in diversity, equality, and tolerance of all beliefs, religions, genders, and races. He was a man who truly loved his fans and wouldn't hesitate to go to conventions at the age of 95 and get a chance to meet them. Pus, he did live a good life making it all the way to 95 years old. And let's not forget about his cameos which are one of the highlights of any Marvel movie. Heck, he's even appeared in non-Marvel movies like, "Mallrats", "Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement", and even this years, "Teen Titans GO! To The Movies". He was my #1 person that I wanted to meet in my lifetime and now I will sadly never get that opportunity to meet that kind man. And after next years, "Spider-Man: Far From Home", we may never see a Stan Lee cameo again unless it's a photo or they CGI him in. So with Thanksgiving coming up next week, while you and your family give thanks to everything you are thankful for, do us all a favor and don't forget what Stan Lee gave us and the love he gave to us fans and us nerds all together. I know I sure will. Rest in peace, Stan Lee. We will all miss you. And with that true believers, I proudly say in dedication to Stan, EXCELSIOR!!
