Week Report #8

Jaden McGrath        1/4/19

This week in my animation class at BOCES, I was finally able to finish all of my tutorials and am now ready to start my modeling project. To be honest, I'm a little nervous to start it because I still find a lot of things in Maya very confusing and a bit too complicated. Hopefully I do a good job. What frustrated me was again the over complication of a lot of the things in Maya. Like seriously, the one tutorial with the bouncing red, blue, and green ball I had to do made me almost go into Hulk mode. But I'm just happy that all of those tutorials are over now. In the future, I would like to learn how to make a complete person design in Maya.

Just a few months ago, Kevin Hart was announced that he would be the host of the 91st annual Academy Awards and a lot of people got excited about it. But then homophobic tweets from the actor/comedian appeared and created controversy. Due to this, Kevin Hart announced that he would step down as host as the Oscars literally just a few days after he was announced to be the host. But today on Ellen, Ellen Degeneres had Kevin Hart appear as a guest where she gave him an exclusive interview so Kevin could promote his upcoming film with Bryan Cranstan, "The Upside". Now that doesn't sound like such a big deal except it gets interesting as Ellen calls the Academy herself and tries to get Kevin Hart back as the host of the Oscars. Even Kevin Hart said that he would reconsider leaving and might actually come back to host the awards show. This has sparked controversy for both Ellen and once again, Kevin Hart.  Me personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Kevin host the Oscars. I mean I do not agree or like what he said in those tweets at all, but he has the charisma and the kind of humor that would be perfect for the Oscars. I mean he already hosted the 2016 MTV Movie Awards with Dwayne Johnson. So if he does come back as the Oscars host, I would be happy. But please Kevin, never post another homophobic tweet ever again!
